Ella Mae is such a ham! She just loves to be silly all day long! Enjoy :)
My Pilot followed his dream to India, I followed my heart! I followed my husband to India so he could fly, and while we were here so much more happened! God blessed us with a miracle baby and my husband and i grew leaps and bounds in love! This is our story of our time in India, for better or for worse it was a path laid out before us filled with adventure and miracles! Now as our adventure takes us back to the US I can only expect great things to happen!

Home sweet India
This week has been a great week for me. I have finally come to that place of acceptance. India, despite all of its craziness (or possibly i mean because of) is our home. Yes, i miss my family and friends, but lets face it with nearly 2 years behind me and at least 2 more to go this HAS to be home.
I realised that for us it is hard to be away from the US, but for Ella Mae this is her day to day. Her family is here, her buddy Kira is here, her house, her toys, her car, her everything is HERE! When we go home she will not have the things she is used to, so despite the fact that we are way excited to go home it has really made me think! She is also quite adapt to the tropical climate and will not be impressed with SD winters!
India has made it possible for me to be a stay at home Mom, something i adore! I get to watch my little angel grow and change every day. If we were in the US i probably could not have done that. What a blessing it truly is to get to be the one at home with your child every day! I am grateful for it and i know many Mothers would love for that opportunity! Sure it is a sacrifice to live here, but any sacrifice is worth it for my little girl. Besides, we aren't exactly living in the slums, i have become quite spoiled with a gym and spa just outside the door all inside our little complex. We have friends here that we love spending time with and so life is good.
Don't get me wrong, i will be happy when we finally go home, but i will miss India...I will miss having so much time with Ryan, something most pilots wives never get. I know that when we return that will all probably change so for that reason i am not in a big hurry to get home. I am enjoying being a normal family, although we had to move to the other side of the world to get that chance.
I wish that my friends and family could come for a visit and experience "our" India. Its just so far for most so we understand but this place truly is worth seeing!

No time...

Its funny, I have been working on my post about Rome for nearly 2 weeks now and it is not done. I just don't seem to have the time or motivation. I am one tired Mommy!
Ryan is back from Bangkok and we missed him so much! That was the longest we had been apart since Ella Mae was born (7 days), and it was obvious all 3 of us missed each other. Ella Mae has started her separation anxiety and that is fun. If i am out of sight she cries, even if she can hear me. I know it is just a stage, but it is a hard one. Although she just doesn't like to be left alone it is worse when it is me. She wants me close at all times!
She has become extremely vocal and it is really cute except when she hits the high octaves! LOL We have transitioned her from sleeping without a swaddle during naps and it is going OK. She still wakes up before she is ready and then plays for a bit before falling back to sleep. Today she talked and played for nearly an hour when she was supposed to be sleeping. She just doesn't want to sleep when there is so much to see and do!
On an India note we saw the funniest thing the other day! You have to understand India to catch the full humor of this story...
Ambulances are few and far between here in India, and there are no EMT's. There is no 911 and even if their were it would not be to any 1st world standard. So anyways.....
Becca and i were going for our usual evening walk around the complex when we noticed there seemed to be more cars than usual in the lot. Also there were 2 ambulances with their drivers just standing around (very strange). We had walked around twice when it hit me, they were having the badminton tournament....We about died with laughter. First off i don't consider badminton to be a sport, but to have 2 ambulances standing by in a country that doesn't even have proper emergency services for a badminton tournament was hilarious! The things we see in India, this would be like having an ambulance at the bingo hall standing by!
